Exhibit 1

On our main floor this month we are featuring our annual "Best of The Basement" works. This annual tradition is one in which each team members is assigned a portion of the gallery, to curate works that they have fondness for. We find it both a great team building exercise and a great way for the team members to show their passion for our artists and their work.

Exhibit 2

In our upper gallery this month we will be featuring works by the great artist Ernest Lothar. In 2019 were honored to have the opportunity to exhibit these wonderful long unseen works by the master.

Art history has forgotten Ernest Lothar, whose contemporaries — artists like Marc Chagall, Wassily Kandinsky and Paul Klee — fled Nazi Europe for America, converging mostly upon New York City, and forming the canon of so-called exile artists whose works are now celebrated in the annals of art history. But Lothar's escape from Hitler's juggernaut was circuitous, bypassing metropolitan art centers for many years. Though he made a significant body of artwork, illness and other circumstances conspired to dim his rising star in the art world for more than 60 years. (Carrie Scozzaro, The INlander, July 2019)

Once again we've gone into the archives to pull more of Ernest's works not seen for decades. This exhibit includes paintings, sketches, studies and illustrations.
